Ensemble Diffraction Microscopy: An Imaging Technique That Allows High-Resolution Diffraction Imaging Using Both Totally and Partially Coherent Sources

چکیده

Coherent diffraction microscopy (CDM) is a potential approach to image micromaterials at atomic resolution without crystals. Due the lack of high-angle scattering, achieved limited several nanometers. Small-angle scattering allows researchers reveal high-resolution 3D structures specimens by fitting 1D signals. However, prerequisite models and non-unique solutions restrict general specimens. Under assumption an ensemble containing large amounts identical with same orientation, intensity distribution pattern whole approximated form factor single specimen multiplied number Since intensities are contributed from ensemble, signal can be significantly extended high-frequency regions. The feasibility (EDM) was demonstrated designed sample using both totally partially coherent X-ray sources Taiwan Photon Source (TPS). reconstructed images show excellent consistency scanning electron microscope. This work represents new protocol for directly characterizing nanomaterials, or potentially biomacromolecules, accumulated data.

High-resolution three-dimensional partially coherent diffraction imaging.

The wave properties of light, particularly its coherence, are responsible for interference effects, which can be exploited in powerful imaging applications. Coherent diffractive imaging relies heavily on coherence and has recently experienced rapid growth. Coherent diffractive imaging recovers an object from its diffraction pattern by computational phasing with the potential of wavelength-limit...

Coherent Diffraction Imaging

For centuries, lens-based microscopy, such as light, phase-contrast, fluorescence, confocal and electron microscopy, has played an important role in the evolution of modern science and technology. In 1999, a novel form of microscopy, known as coherent diffraction imaging (CDI) or lensless imaging, was developed and transformed our traditional view of microscopy, in which the diffraction pattern...

High-resolution optical diffraction microscopy.

In an optical diffraction microscopy experiment, one measures the phase and amplitude of the field diffracted by the sample and uses an inversion algorithm to reconstruct its map of permittivity. We show that with an iterative procedure accounting for multiple scattering, it is possible to visualize details smaller than lambda/4 with relatively few illumination and observation angles. The roles...

When holography meets coherent diffraction imaging.

The phase problem is inherent to crystallographic, astronomical and optical imaging where only the intensity of the scattered signal is detected and the phase information is lost and must somehow be recovered to reconstruct the object's structure. Modern imaging techniques at the molecular scale rely on utilizing novel coherent light sources like X-ray free electron lasers for the ultimate goal...
